Coffs Harbour Airshow 2008 (Australia)
2008 airshow had a full program of aerial and static displays including a Super
Constellation and the RAAF Roulettes performing world class formation aerobatics.
Crowd numbers exceeded expectations and resulted in a highly successful event
all round. The theme of the event was Aviation and Tourism, an acknowledgement
of eight decades of involvement by Coffs Coast community and Authorities up to
the present day. Coffs Harbour and District Aero Club is one of the oldest in
Australia and has maintained a strong presence in the General Aviation and pilot
training since the Club inception in 1928. Coffs Harbour Regional Airport was
established by the City Council in 1928 and, apart from being taken over as an
RAAF airbase during WWII, has grown in the 80 years of its operation to a major
regional hub for civil airlines with regular passenger and cargo flights to
Sydney, Brisbane and other centres up and down the East Coast.
